This is Oh My Blog! A brand new monthly interview series featuring a whole host of fellow bloggers. Each month, we’ll be bringing you different themed posts showcasing the very best bloggers out there. This month, the questions are based on the fitting February topic of love!
This month, we’re meeting Sam from Stressed Mum.
Tell us about yourself and your blog.
I am Sam and embracing my looming milestone birthday. I am now a carer to my Daughter and obviously a blogger, where I blog about anything to do with our lives, since last year I also talk about chronic illness, which has been a huge success, as my Daughter has been diagnosed with ME
What is your current relationship status?
I am married to my long suffering husband.
Do you ever celebrate Valentine’s’ Day?
No we don’t anymore.
It’s your first date! Where do you go?
It would be to a nice country pub, with a log fire chatting and keeping warm, and getting to know each other.
What’s the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for you?
My husband once told me he had a work job to do and will be late, he arranged for my parents to have our dog, secretly packed a case and whisked me away for a weekend get away, I had no idea, in our room was flowers and champagne 🙂
What is your favourite romantic film? Cheesier the better.
Where do I start, but although not sure if you would call it a romantic film, to me it is Moulin Rouge, I love the film and a couple of the songs have such special romantic memories to me, we even had one of the songs played at our wedding playing quietly while we were saying our vows
Spill the beans! Who’s your celebrity crush?
I have 2 – George Clooney (who doesn’t have a crush on him?) and Ewan McGregor (going back to Moulin Rouge). I could also sit and listen to Sean Connery’s voice all day
Flowers are pretty popular at this time of year. Do you like receiving them or do they really not float your boat?
I do love receiving flowers and they really do put a smile on my face, but I would prefer them when least expected, than because of Valentine’s Day etc.
Do you have children? Do you want any (or any more)?
I have 2 stepsons 22 and 18, and a Daughter with my husband who is 13. I did want more, but not now, I am waiting to be a nanny now 🙂
What would be (or was) your choice of song for your first dance at your wedding?
Our song for our first dance was The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack.
Do you have any plans yet for Valentine’s Day 2017?
None at all, for us it is just a normal day.
Raw oysters are pretty famous for being an aphrodisiac. Have you ever tried them?
I was talking about these with my husband the other day, neither of us have tried them and we both don’t think we could, although he is more adventurous than me.
Imagining money’s no object, where would you go for a romantic getaway?
I would love to go to Italy, to be it is one of the romantic places I want to visit.
What’s the best Valentine’s gift you’ve ever received?
Haha, um after years of heartache I became pregnant with my Daughter, you really can not beat that present!
Finally, what is the number one most important thing you value in a relationship.
Making time for each other, with day to day life it is easy to forget who you both are, so remember to have some time together.
